ImageMixer_v02 Download

Mix a foreground image into a background using curves. This basically provides the functionality of a tool's "Blend" or "Dissolve" slider split into separate channels and based on a channel's brightness. It can be used to add the spread curves back to the new Film Grain node or to add grain from a scanned gray card.

Although this macro could be used for various special effects, the main purpose is to act as spread curves for the grain tool: Connect the original image to the main input and the output of the grain tool into the foreground ("Mix Image") input. By default, the LUT splines are set to 1, which outputs the mix image (the grainy image in this case). Modify the splines by adding points and drag them down towards zero to reduce the effect of the foreground image, thus reducing the strength of the grain tool in a certain channel and luminance range. You can also drag spline points above 1 to increase the strength of the grain.

Main Inputs

The following inputs appear on the tool's tile in the Flow Editor:

Input
Image:Node_Input_Gold.gif Background image and source for the LUT splines. Required.
MixImage
Image:Node_Input_Green.gif Foreground image to be mixed in. Required.
EffectMask
Image:Node_Input_Lavender.gif Defines the areas where the effect is applied. Optional.

LUT Red, Green and Blue

A value of 1 will output 100% of the mix image in the selected luminance range, a value of zero will output 100% of the background image.
