What does the "Cache files from network DiskCaches" option do? --Tilt 12:58, 17 November 2010 (EST)
- If a tool has Disk Caching enabled, and the disk cache files are stored remotely on the network, then enabling this option will use a local copy of those cache files in preference, similarly to the local cache on a networked loader. --Daniel
- Thanks. By the way, do render slaves also access loader caches if I set the path map to a network drive? This would allow us to cache to a faster RAID that can be used by both artists and the render farm. --Tilt 02:12, 18 November 2010 (EST)
- Yep. Slaves will do loader caching just like full versions, unless you tick Disable All, and you can set LoaderCache: to any valid path you like. You should be able to share a common cache among machines if you want. --Daniel
