The Character Level Styling modifier only works on Text+ tools. You can then select individual characters directly in your view and apply different text attributes to them. Think of larger capitals at the beginning of each line, different fonts in one word, colored highlighting and more. It can be applied by right clicking into the Styled Text field of a Text+ tool and selecting Character Level Styling.
