3D Muzzle Flash

Download Comp
Very exciting setup maded by Sir-Edric for creating Volumetric MuzzleFlash, so you could apply it everywhere in your GUNscenes!
There is an original thread on pigsfly .
This works with Fusion 6.1 and up.

Donut Reflections

Download Comp
This comp grew out of this thread on pigsfly (in response to marcus_db's "The Purpose" video) to demonstrate blurry reflections using projections. It also contains a particle system, several examples on how to build materials, the catcher material for texture projections and blurs/glows in linear gamma space. Everything is 100% Fusion. --Tilt

Fusion 3D vs Office

Download files

______________________________________________________

I had seen some questions in the forums about matchlighting in Fusion and how to take advantage of Fusion's 3D space, shaders, shadows, etc...
This is a simple attempt to answer those questions. No 3D application involved, just good'ol Fusion.
There are no high resolution and high dynamic range images, because they exceed size limits, but the idea and usage comes through.
Also, you will need to install both fonts supplied in order to properly see the text-to-geometry usage and the clock.
I plan on updating it regularly with new objects, tricks and optimizations that might cover a wider range of 3D tools.

White Soda Can

Fu_SodaCan
This comp builds on the technique described in this youtube video about rendering a normals pass in Fusion. Apart from the FBX model of the can, it's 100% Fusion. It demonstrates a few things like faking ambient occlusion with clever texturing, how to use blending modes in 3D to combine gradients on different 3D shapes and how to relight and tint an image in linear gamma space using a normals pass. --Tilt

Sci-Fi Sphere Animation

SphereAnimation v.2
This was inspired by a Cinema4D tutorial from GrayScale Gorilla,
after watching the tutorial, i started wondering if it was possible to recreate it only on fusion,
and this is the result, some amazing things can be done on fusion6.1 3D environment. =)
My Final Render: http://www.vimeo.com/14928085 and you can watch the tutorial on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gcrbj7h0Mk0
Hope you guys find this useful =)

Faking Global Illumination

GI_sampledColorsV2
This one shows you how to fake Global Illumination in Fusion5.
The Comp is based on collaboration of Pavle Milićević and Attila Sziklai who perfected this comp and introduced HDRI/IBL lighting.
See the individual tool comments for further information.
The original thread on PigsFly can be found here: http://www.pigsfly.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=5286

3D Projection "London Secrets"

SE_projection_street
This one shows you how to transform a flat photograph first into a nightshot

and then into a 3DScene, using projection mapping.

Second Man's TimeWasters(tm) in 3D!

THE EYEON WALKCYCLE

SeM_WalkCycle_03_002
Just because I wondered whether this would be easy to do. And in fact, surprisingly enough it was!

With not a little pleasure I am happy to introduce you to what is probably the first 3D walk cycle ever created in a compositing application. It sure as hell is the first one to feature on VFXPedia. Also see how fast your machine is by turning on that second Duplicate3D! :)

THE EYEON WALKCYCLE II

SeM_WalkCycle_03_002
I could not resist taking it that little bit further... :)

It's not the fastest comp ever, so you can find a rendered .mov here: [1]

Aftermath - Destruction shot

Aftermath_public_version_5.1(7mb)
This was a shot i made for IBC 2007 to showcase some of fusion's 3d capabilities and particle systems, i also hade the opportunity to showcase it at Eyeon's world tour in London 2007. As requested; here's the public version. The only thing missing from the original shot is the use of reelsmart's motionblur plugin,a custom grain macro and some minor variations here and there, but you'll get the picture. And i've added comments on some of the nodes; hopefully someone'll find this usefull.

Buzzing flies

ModifedFlies9.comp (28KB)
This is a bit modified version of the comp Sander posted on Stu's blog. It's just a bunch of 3D flies flapping wings and wandering about, with a rather shallow DOF. Renders not so badly on recent hardware. --Chad

Early Solar System

Download Comp (11kb)

This comp is a scene of a longer animation, created on behalf of the German Executive LHC Outreach Group for an exhibition display. The full animation, called Particle Masses can be watched on the Tricklabor website.

Budget considerations ruled out the creation of fully fledged 3D scenes so I opted for a style of animated illustrations and tried to put Fusion's 3D capabilities to good use.

This scene is 100% Fusion. It uses the great lenzWHORE macro by Theodor Groeneboom. Only the ReelSmart Motion Blur plugin is missing from the original flow. I also added notes and gave all the nodes meaningful names.

The comp was made public for educational purposes. I hope someone will learn from it and be inspired.

Directional Constrain

DirectionalConstrain_v04.comp

An example of creating 3D-directional constrain in Fusion. All the calculations are made in the ImagePlane3D1, 3D Controls tab. To use different camera, connect its position to the CamX, CamY and CamZ parameters.

This comp also shows a way of optimizing long expressions by means of intermediate calculations in user controls.
Thanks to Roman Fedotov for help in math. --Gringo

Simple Water/Ocean like displacement

download example comp

this is a setup of different noises to simulate open water/ocean like displacements. it can be animated and setup for multiple water situations. the tool setting s1-s4 give you a starting point how it could look
