Fusion 5 and Digital Fusion 4 use different drivers for licensing. If you plan on running both versions on the same hardware then the following driver information should help;

Fusion, DFX+ and DF Render Node all require a Hasp hardware lock dongle for licensing purposes. (In the case of network licenses only the license server system requires a dongle.) By default the most recent version of the Hasp drivers are installed automatically when either DF, DFX+ or Node is installed on a system. However the Hasp installer itself is available for download for anyone requiring it.

Clients who are running WindowsXP with Service Pack 2 (SP2) may experience difficulties with Fusion / DFX+ being unable to see the HASP dongle. If this is the case, please uninstall all instances of the HASP drivers, download the above mentioned v5.12 drivers and then reinstall the v4.99 drivers overtop.

Fusion/DFX+ 4 on XP64

In order to use Fusion or DFX+4 on XP64 bit OS you will require a network license. The specific dongle drivers for version 4 products are not available for XP64. Please contact eyeon's sales dept. for information on upgrading to a license server.

Certain functions in DF4, most notably Matte Gamma controls, will produce incorrect output when running on an Intel CPU under Win64. This may cause significant artifacts when rendering some flows. No artifacts occur when running on AMD CPUs, and Fusion 5 or later versions do not have this issue.

Fusion/DFX+ 4 on Vista, Windows7 (32 and 64 bit)

Changes in the OS of Vista and Windows 7 prevent Digital Fusion or DFX+ 4 from running without crashing at start-up. We recommend upgrading to Vision or Fusion 6 or later to allow the use of eyeon's software on more modern OS's. If you desperately need to get Digital Fusion or DFX+ 4 running, you can install a virtual machine running Windows XP (Or Windows 7 XP mode) and use a network based license. Any use of a virtual machine without a network license is flagged as a remote terminal between the Host machine hardware lock and the Virtual machine by the license system, and FlexLM will prevent the application from running.
