Object snapping to camera3d tracking point

#1

Post by rdoetjes » Wed Sep 11, 2019 3:50 am

Hi guys and gals,

Here’s a ‘traitor’ who comes from Nuke moving to Fusion. I am finding the translation rather painless but there’s one thing that has me stumped.
How can I snap an object to a tracking marker from the camera3d tracker.

In Nuke you select a tracker and create a card and it snaps to that. I use this workflow as we in synthese and blender to get really accurate placement.

But I couldn’t figure out how to do this in Fusion 16. Is there away to do this? Without resolving and selecting a tracker as the origin (which I did now :) )

Thanks,

Ray

In the 3D view with the particle cloud visible, select a tracker, right-click and select 'create image plane' or something like that in the right-click menu. It should be pretty similar to Nuke/Syntheyes/Blender in that respect.

ShadowMaker,

Yes indeed when you right click the marker under point cloud there it is!

Thank you so much!

Cheers,

Not a traitor at all! A clarified person for sure...:-)
Welcome to Fusion!

Welcome to Fusion!

Thanks and I’m actually enjoying Fusion. And I’ve been a NukeX user for close to 10 years. But renewing my license just to have ACES support wasn’t worth the 8000 dollars. As comping 3D is layers can be done in any compositor. As most of my time I’m comping 3D.

I also love the fact that Fusion has Metal and OpenGL support. It renders so nice and quick compared to Nuke.
Scanline renders are so 1990s ;)

I love this community. Very skilled people.
