archive comp?

#1

Post by andromeda_girl » Thu Oct 18, 2018 7:37 am

I am trying to archive a comp but something weird is happening. there is no data being displayed [unlike previous use experience demonstrated] and there is no longer a popup window asking where to save it.

instead, fusion just hangs, then [Done] appears in the console. nothing else happens.

I have no idea if it really did archive it 'somewhere' or if nothing in fact happened, which seems more likely, considering that the amount of files and some file sizes would indicate to me it should take about 30 minutes or more.
but the console shows nothing to suggest anything has taken place.

anybody have experience with it lately to provide insight to this?
thanks, really need to save this today.

Which ArchiveComposition Script do you use?
I suggest using the one from the Reactor/eyeonLegacy collection,
as it has been updated & tested.

Cheerio.

Eric.

that was the one I was using.
the popup just has a tremendous delay in arriving without letting you know it is actually doing any calculations-
the thing that threw me off was the -
[Done]
showing up in the console.

Hi @andromeda_girl.

Could you post a few screenshots that show each of the Archive Composition scripts' AskUser dialogs while you run the script? That could help with the troubleshooting process. If you could have the Console tab visible in the screenshots that would be handy, too. :)

Don't forget to use the WSL post editor's IMGUR icon to attach the images to your reply:

Are you working exclusively with image sequences in the Loader nodes for the comp you are trying to archive? Or do you also have audio files, 3D models, and movies in the comp too? Does your composite use PathMaps in the Loader, Saver, FBX Mesh, ABC Mesh nodes?

Also, to help with testing things, could you try making a new Fusion comp that has just a single Loader node with a single frame image in it. Does the archive composition script work correctly on that comp?
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Hello
This problem has bothered me for a long time. Recently I try to search for a method to solve it. I think I'm lucky enough that I get the script Archive Engineering, which looks so friendly and useful, although it isn't free. This is the link. :D

Hmm, I don't think that's needed though. Can we go back to what's failing in Archive Composition? Aside from misuse, it's fairly robust...

@Allen Johnsoon In this case it means that there is either one person with multiple user accounts on WSL, or there is a group of you on WSL with the sole purpose of advertising everything produced by VFX Grace.

As I have said before, I don't mind a certain level of advertising. In fact I encourage it. I do mind spam and this is what that looks like. It's pretty obvious, please stop it.

Thanks,
Pieter
