lock setting on a view window doesn't do much

Fusion version:
fusion studio 9.0.2
OS and version:
windows 10
Additional relevant system info:

Description of the bug:
the lock button on a view port window does indeed lock the image from updating. but the tree still renders. it shouldn't process any of it if it is locked.
Severity (Trivial, Minor, Major, Critical)
annoying- yet, also hard to comprehend the logic behind it if it was designed this way.
Steps to reproduce:
have a comp. view something in a view window, and perhaps just the first loader in another view window.
now lock the view with the result of the entire comp being viewed. hit play. despite being locked, the entire comp will process what is [not] being viewed in the locked view window.
Please, if possible, provide a Fusion setup to help demonstrate the behaviour, either as an attachment or between code tags:

i guess it is not a bug. because you can have as many viewers you want you would need to process the tree to show the correct result in any other viewer which is not locked...

Each node has its own 'lock' button if you want to make one stop updating. The viewer's lock button is actually having a normal and expected behavior. Pingking explained the reason in a fine way. :)

What you should do is lock the view AND turn off the view option on the node that was active in there. In that case the comp won't update and will behave as you are expecting.

There's also this topic touching on the subject.

Marking as fixed.
