Description of the bug:
Fusion forces an irreversible colour adjustment to DNG files and there's no way to turn it off.
As far as I can tell there's no way to correctly linearize a DNG image, or load the DNG in its raw colour space. The loader forces a DNG gamma colour conversion but it seems that there's no equivalent inverse operation.
I feel that BMD need to get on the case and fix DNG workflows either with proper documentation or with better loader nodes that allow us to do the correct colour space conversions from their cameras. eg
- Make it obvious how to linearize an image from a BMD camera,
- give us a DNG saver node
- allow us to turn of the colour correction in the loader node and load the DNG image as raw data.
- give us a DNG colour conversation node with an inverse option.
Without these features I'd be reluctant to us DNG files in fusion, and unless someone has a better idea it looks like BMD cameras direct into fusion is kinda broken because it forces an irreversible colour adjustment.
