[CTra] Camera Tracker - Supervised/User Tracks

#1

Post by Midgardsormr » Fri Nov 17, 2017 3:51 pm

Many (most) 3D Trackers have the capability to create supervised tracking points, set by and adjusted by the user, in order to supplement and/or guide auto-tracking. Fusion's Camera Tracker would benefit from the ability to add existing point tracks and paths in order to supplement the data produced by automatically generated trackers.

An example of PFTrack's User Track node, followed by an Auto Track, showing both types of tracking points.

Me too. Syntheyes uses supervised tracking extensively, and without it a lot more shots are just untrackable . . .

+1 for supervised tracking
+1 for nodal solve

+1000 for understanding why the solve fluctuates between crazy rms errors when hitting solve on the same data.

+1 for the ability to get a mesh from the point cloud or at least to export them without a hack via fbx. Locaters come to Fusion via FBX, but not the other way round? That can't be too hard to implement or maybe I'm missing something here.

I'm a new user to Fusion with a background in Layout and matchmoving and yes I totally agree. If the camera tracker has a manual supervised tracker and the ability to choose between nodal and free camera solves, it will be far more useful. The ability to export solved tracks as locator/nulls/dummys into other 3D programs would be extremely helpful as well.
