Hi,
It would be great to have Exr 2.2 with DWAA compression available in Fusion. It is lossy, but produces very decent image while saving considerable amount os disk space.

Version 2.2 is in the wild for more than two years. Even Adobe can read and write it now, as well as Resolve. I do believe it also contains some read speed improvements.

Thank you,
Jirka

In Fusion 9, DWAA equals DWA (32 line) and DWAB equals DWA (256 line).

DWA in OpenEXR is actually two compression options, DWAA and DWAB. They use the same algorithm, but DWAA compresses pixels in blocks of 32 scanlines, while DWAB does 256 scanlines. Bundling more lines together lets DWAB compress more efficiently and increases performance when the entire entire image is read at once, as most programs do. Meanwhile, DWAA's smaller bundles make it more efficient for reading just a few scanlines at a time.
