I am holding off from installing Reactor since I'm running both Resolve Studio and Fusion Studio 17 betas and I figure beta is beta and Reactor may need to wait for non-betas before it can react and update. Is this valid, or does Reactor run in 17 beta?

After installing the latest Fusion Studio 17.1 Beta 7, the Reactor installation completed successfully on M1 and it works fine. Hooray!

Reactor is not installing when I drop the LUA-file in Fusion Nodes section. There is just a dashed rectangle showing but nothing happens at all :? I'm on Windows 10.

Would appreciate any suggestions how to fix this issue :)
I've goth the same problem. Windows 10, Davinci Resolve 17 beta 8. Tried to drag and drop the lua file into the node area - nothing happens apart from the yellow rectangle showing like in the Adrianoo's screenshot. I've also tried to drag and drop the lua file to console window - nothing happens. I've put the reactor.fu file into the C:\ProgramData\Blackmagic Design\DaVinci Resolve\Fusion\Config folder - no result. I've also created the C:\Users\(my_username)\AppData\Roaming\Blackmagic Design\Fusion\Config folder and placed reactor.fu file in there - no result.

UPD: I've uninstalled 17 beta 8 and installed 16.2.8 and tried the drag and drop methid - no change. The result is the same: nothing happens. The installation does not start.

I've goth the same problem. Windows 10, Davinci Resolve 17 beta 9
and this problem related with Fusion Studio Activation Problem

Through some intense searching an research, I was able to tracked this down a Synology Service
that I use with my NAS...specifically "synology drive vss service x64" which is used to backup daily
client work and my Fusion tutorials.

Stopping this service fixed Fusion and let the program function as normal...
Given that many people use these systems...Hopefully BMD will look into it

Here is a Reactor installation troubleshooting tip for Windows 10 users that don't use a Synology NAS product:

If you experience issues on Windows with Drag and Drop handling in DaVinci Resolve, such as being unable able to launch the Reactor.lua installer script by dragging it to the Nodes view or Console windows try this: Make sure the DaVinci Resolve executable has its file properties in the Explorer window set to have the "Run this program as an administrator" checkbox unchecked.

Special thanks to Neil Hester for reporting a workaround to this issue.

It is not working for me. I added a new path. It is even recognized by the installation when i choose a custom install path but it still insists on installing in the default folder.

Windows 10 x64
Davinci Resolve Studio 17

A normal user does not have write access there. So you need to create the folder and add your user with chmod

If you find yourself in that situation, you don't have to use that install location.

The REACTOR_INSTALL_PATHMAP environment variable can be used to change the Reactor installation location to something other than the default PathMap value of "AllData:".

Hi @madeinlisboa.

When the Reactor installer ran it saved a debugging file named "ReactorInstallLog.txt" in the same folder location as the Reactor installer lua script.

To help troubleshoot the issue you are experiencing, please copy/paste that log file text into a new post here with that text placed inside a pair of

tags so the formatting is preserved. Thanks. :)

There are two separate sets of files set up on a Reactor install.

There is a Resolve "Fusion > Fusion Settings..." menu item-based set of "PathMap" preferences that define the Reactor folder entries where downloaded atom package content is stored on disk. This content is found at the PathMap location of "Reactor:/Deploy/". Which in your case should be stored in a folder on disk at:

A:\Reactor\Reactor\Deploy\

Then, as a separate thing, Reactor has a "Config:/Reactor.fu" PathMap location saved .fu file that is installed on disk. This holds a set of hotkeys for Reactor/Atomizer along with a root-level menu entry (for Fusion Standalone since Resolve still does not support root level menu customization...)

The last two lines of the log file indicate that there was a file write issue with saving the Reactor.fu file. Also, I noticed your user account has an accented character in the middle name André which might be throwing the script off.

If you download the Reactor.lua script from the GitLab Reactor repository, and drag 'n drop run it in the Nodes view or the Resolve Console window you should be able to force-load Reactor's package manager GUI and get the initial sync done.

Reactor.lua Script Download Link:
https://gitlab.com/WeSuckLess/Reactor/-/blob/master/System/Reactor.lua

Edit: If the Reactor GUI force-loading thing works, the next time you launch Resolve you should see a "Workspace > Scripts > Comp > Reactor > Open Reactor..." set of menu entries that can allow you to run Reactor in the future.
