control background transparency of grouped-nodes-window ?

#1

Post by Fred Eric Eckert » Mon Sep 02, 2019 2:09 pm

To organize my flow I started to group nodes, which cleans up my flow a lot .
But when I open a node-group, the background of that window has some transparency.
Which sometimes is fine to see the general-node-flow behind, but other times its distracting from the group-node-flow.
Is there a way to control that transparency?

That is a very good question. You could try poking around in the fuskin file to see if there's something in there that controls the group node's transparency.

In your Fusion folder there is a Skins sub-folder, inside of which is Fusion.fuskin. This is just an obfuscated zip archive. Change its extension to .zip and you can open it up. There are two stylesheets; one is called Fusion.skin, which is the blue-tinted default UI. The other is Neutral.skin, the neutral gray UI. These are both just plain-text documents in which you can adjust the colors of various elements of the interface.

All of the entries for color have only RGB triads, but there are quite a few that have a second triad whose purpose I do not know. It's possible that it's an opacity or transparency. I haven't experimented to find out.

Obviously it's a good idea to back up the fuskin file before meddling with it, just in case. And Fusion won't run as long as it's called .zip, so it's a little bit of a pain to constantly rename and relaunch to check the results.

Or adjust your Fusion -> Fusion Settings -> Flow -> Group Opacity to whatever you like :)

Thanks for replying.
I have actually looked in "Fusion -> Fusion Settings -> Flow"
but couldn't find it, because I forgot to scroll down ! :bmd:

Yeah, I wouldn't mind it if the Preferences window would scale to fit all option if there is the screen real estate for it. I've missed a good few things that way in the past as well...
