This forum will be about all the nice things you can do with Fusion's scripting and Fuse API, whether it's questions, expressions, snippets or finished scripts.

To get you started with scripting, it's highly recommended to take a look at vfxpedia: Finished scripts and Fuses can be found at vfxpedia as well: And there are two beginner's level videos about scripting in Fusion:
  • Scripting 101 (covers creating and connecting tools, setting their input values and some file name handling)
  • Scripting 102 (Python, OOP, inputs, attributes and keyframes)

hi guys,

could somebody tell me what is Fuse exactly? I suppose Fuses cannot be used in the free version in Fusion, right? (for first, they can be some kind of plugins)

The Fusion 8 User Manual gives a pretty good explanation on page 452, along with examples.

In short, they are "script plugins", basically text files with Lua code that don't need to be compiled to run. They work just fine in the free version of Fusion and you can find quite a few examples here on the forum, and on the VFXPedia backup (as linked in the post above).

The present manuals also refer to a Fuse guide in several places, so it looks like more in-depth documentation is in progress!

By the way there is a Scripting Guide for fusion 8 on the main blackmagic ressources page.
