Pirates of Confusion to release a WSL special

#1

Post by Captain LeBuck »

Hello everyone,
The holidays are approaching and it is always good to end the year with a good deed. Some people prefer to do it at the beginning of the year :)
Well, you might agree that if the year has been a tough one, it's probably a good feeling to end the year with something nice.
Before I do so, allow me to make one thing clear. This is not an advertisement for my tutorials or my Patreon.

A while ago I released the first episode from the emblem masterclass. Meanwhile I had a chat with Mrs. Pieter ( sorry Pieter, I couldn't resist :) . All kidding aside, I never knew how to contribute to the WSL community. There are people here who have a solution to everything. I like to call you the wizards of...., and I do so in all honesty publicly. So I figured, I do what I do best....playing a bad-ass pirate with a plastic dagger :)

So here it is, a special episode which is WSL and POC exclusive, accompanied by a short teaser, to invite new sorcerer rookies and wanna-be pirates to our ships.
Full video:

Teaser:

Hate it, love it, whatever you chose, I wish you happy holidays! :D

It's an awesome tutorial, Captain, and a fantastic gesture! Thank you!

And it doesn't stop there, me hearties!

The Emblem WSL special Fusion comp is available on Reactor!

It's true! Here's the proof:

Image

Install the Emblem Atom (the top one in the image above) and all dependencies are taken care of - notably a handful of third party tools that the Captain uses in his fine craftsmanship.

One small note of caution: Emblem is a fairly large install due to the source material. On slower connections it may look as if Reactor isn't doing anything for a bit. It is, though, it's downloading all the fine booty to your machine.

Here's how to get to said booty, once the install is done:

Image

That will open an Explorer/Finder/Whatever to the Reactor location on disk, from where you can browse through all the Deployed materials:

It's terrific stuff - enjoy! :)

Saucy indeed! Thank you, Grand Wizard!
Would be nice to start a WSL egg challenge! Then we make a Christmas tree and hang all the WSL eggs up there!

If you want to jump right into the Reactor "Comps" folder (in fewer clicks) the "Reactor > Tools > Show Comps Folder" menu item is handy. :)

Hah. Would you believe I actually searched for that and couldn't find it? Guess I was out of midnight oil... 😴

This topic is now - quite deservedly so - in the Theatre as well! :cheer:

Deadline around Easter? :)

Mate, I already told you back then.....I have no friggin idea where that thing comes from.
No German would ever put pickles on the Christmas tree. Never. Ever.

Of course we use artfully crafted pieces of Eisbein for decoration purposes
and always add a few strings of Sauerkraut, just for the final touch.
And we do that *before* we stand our Lederhosen right next to the tree.

And just to quote good ole wiki: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christmas_pickle
[..] This tradition is commonly believed by Americans to come from Germany and be referred to as a Weihnachtsgurke,[4][5] but this is probably apocryphal.[6] In fact, the tradition is completely unknown in Germany [..]
Americans. Always blame it on somebody else....:-)

It doesn't have to be true to be hilarious 😁
