Lens Flare presets (LFTools) for Fusion!
Hey guys, I was finally able to put toghether this preset pack.
It took quite a while.
(sadly YouTube destroyed the quality)....
I'm very happy with the result and proud to share it.
This is my first sale on Gumroad. Keep in mind that you're not paying only for the presets... but also helping the development of LFTools.
Here the link!
https://gumroad.com/l/RMkNZo
You can use the code: millolab20 for an additional 20% off until 1st November.
Thanks for the support!
Cheers,
Emilio.

Wow looks amazing. So There is a link to get your preset pack, but what about the macro itself?
Would love to see how this works with 3D assets; connecting the flare centre to geometry? One of the drawbacks of 2D lens flares is always how they don't generally appear or disappear at the edge of a frame realistically. Would be good to know how your tool works with that scenario.

The macro set is on Reactor. Please watch the quick tutorial I linked first. For 3D assets you’ll need to work with a Locator. For occlusion you’ll need to use a probe modifier. I am working on a global scale/brightness control... it’s something for v 2.0. I’m also working on some dynamic element that reacts on the edge, but it’s harder then I thought. Anyway, please test the macros and let me know your thoughts. Any feedback is more than welcome!
Cheers!

This is quite simply incredible. Great demo video as well. We can now create lens flares that J.J. Abrams would be proud of! Really we can!
Thanks so much.

Maybe I should do a v2 preset pack?
If you happen to have footage of real lens flare it would be great if you could somehow share it!
here an example of a lens flare recreated from footage.

Re: Lens Flare presets (LFTools) for Fusion!
And also bought - lovely work indeed.
One issue, though. I thought I'd make a comp with all the presets in it for reference, so I opened the "aurora" comp and the "blue moon" comp and copied the "blue moon" flow into the "aurora" one. When I tried to preview a frame in the viewer the "aurora" worked fine but "blue moon" lit up red in every node but the first one. I had a quick look at the comp file in a text editor and I'm guessing it has to do with the "controls" function - looks like the name of the "controls" node is hardwired into each subsequent node and therefore conflicts? So you can only have one flare per comp file? Or am I misunderstanding how to use it?
Oh and I noticed on a previous post you were asking about lens flare reference. Cinematographer Claudio Miranda has some good shot reference for both anamorphic and spherical lenses on his site -
