For this upcoming NAB I'm pleased to introduce two brand new features to We Suck Less that I'm sure will come in handy!
First of all there is now a way to peek inside a topic without going into it (magic! voodoo!). Hovering over a topic title now brings up a preview of the first and last post in the topic.
But this next one is the one that gets me a little bit excited, because it solves a problem I've been struggling with myself. Imagine a post such as this one:
Fantastic, lots of questions that we actually know the answers to, so typically you would quote the entire thing, and then the editing starts. Deleting parts of the quote, putting quote tags in the appropriate places, making sure you don't miss a [ or a ] or have a quote tag too many (or too few). It can be a pretty big job to end up with an answer like this:
But as of today, this is all becoming a LOT easier
Now when you select some text inside a post, a menu will appear:
Replywill autofill the Quick Reply box when you are on the last page of a topic, or bring up the full post editor when you are not. Selecting new text and clicking
Replyagain will replace the quote in the editor. Should you want to select more quotes and build a complex post from them, the
Save quoteoption is your friend. When using that you will see that a new button will appear in the editors:
Clicking that button will pop up a window that contains all your saved quotes and you can insert them in your posts from there. They even persist across forum sessions.
Hope you'll like it as much as I do! Happy NAB!
