3D rendering in Fusion - possible bad geo

#1

Post by RBemendo » Tue May 14, 2019 12:35 pm

Open GL and Software renders of FBX looks like overlapping geometry... but only does so when medium distance from geo. If I'm close it render's just fine and when I'm really wide it renders just fine. There doesn't appear to be any overlapping in the model but the intersecting sections are really close together. Am I missing something or is it just bad geo?

Example included:

Try playing with your Camera's clipping planes?

Thanks! When near clipping is set below 10 this effect happens. Shouldn't the clipping be "further" away if it's set to .1? Since the range from .1 to 9990 is greater than 10-9990?

Floating point rounding errors? Maybe reducing the near clip causes you to lose a digit of precision.

I've run into this before and simply scaling the entire 3d scene up by 10 and then merging the camera after with the position multiplied by 10 fixed it.

that's for all the suggestions. Just moving the near clipping point to 10 fixed the issue. But I'll try the 10x scale increase and see it that fixes it as well when near plane clip is at .1
