UI widget selection issue on Linux

#1

Post by intrac » Thu Feb 28, 2019 6:35 am

Hi,

I'm trying my luck with Fusion 9 on SUSE 15.0 and for the most part it's working, well except for a persistent issue with curve spline selection.

After adding one or more control points, it later becomes almost impossible to select and move them. New points end up being created instead.

After much poking, I found that clicking on a blank part of the interface just before moving a point resets the problem and a point can be moved. But it has to be done each and every time.

Example:

Does anyone know of a workaround?

System details:
openSUSE Leap 15.0
Official Nvidia driver: 390.87
XFCE 4.12 desktop
Logitech USB mouse

Hi @@intrac
I tried to reproduce that on Windows and I haven't seen the same behavior so far. It looks like a linux-specific bug (it's not the intended behavior at all)

Thanks for checking both of you.

I've just noticed that Fusion doesn't have this issue on Gnome, IceWM or TWM - it's only with XFCE.

I'll investigate further.

EDIT: disabling 'Raise on click' in the Settings Manager-->Window Manager-->Focus fixes the issue.

EDIT2: looks like this issue is still happening, but less frequently. Toggling raise on focus seems to fix it for a time, before returning.

I have the same problem even on Fusion Studio 16b. I'm using Binary Split Window Manager. I'll try Metacity from Gnome. Thank you for pointing into direction of window managers.
