Blackmagic Fusion 16.0 Released

Download Fusion 16

Last night Fusion Studio 16 exited the "beta" status. This release is available for download from the BMD Support site download section.

There is no Fusion 16 (free) version, so if you want to use Fusion Standalone v16 its only downloadable as a paid Fusion Studio release that requires a Dongle to use. AFAIK Resolve Studio dongle's will also activate Fusion Studio v16 but I don't believe Resolve Studio users with an activation card and serial number can?

Note: There is no word yet on the availability of a Fusion Studio 16.1 release that would match Resolve Studio 16.1.

Ah yes, I think you're right.

In any case, I'd say the safest thing to do no matter what you're looking to run (but a must if it is Fusion) is to get a Fusion Studio license.

From multiple forum posts I've read, Resolve Studio dongles will not run Fusion Studio.

I can confirm though that Fusion Studio dongles run Resolve Studio just fine, as they always have.

Also, there is a free version of Fusion still but it's part of DaVinci Resolve now, no longer available as standalone.

I'm not 100% sure but I think the issue was user expectation. AFAIK a Resolve Studio 16 dongle will activate Fusion Studio v16 but not any earlier Fusion Studio release. I'm sure PL or PC will be able to clarify it shortly. :)

It's kind of logical that a Resolve dongle won't run older versions of Fusion, because I'm pretty sure something must be changed inside of Fusion to deal with other dongles. And they're definitely not going to create 9.03 just to deal with that.

Oh. You don't know how much I would have *loved* to have gotten a Fusion 9.0.3 update/backport with the recent UI Manager scripting updates under the hood. A paid Fusion 9.0.3 release/special build would be something I would gladly pay a good amount of cash for.

To bad reality won't let that happen.

For me it is very good, I have to get used to the new interface, but it would be great to update the media loader system .... read all the formats that Davinci reads it ... so as not to have to do transcoder reprocesses. That fusion read natively
exemplars
arri / sony / canon .mxf
red/ GEMINI
It is faster, with the improvements of GPU tools
Hopefully Krokodove and others come back.
I am very happy that finally the standalone version came out .... let's go ahead, hopefully new tools come.

Do you guys know how to resize text in Fusion GUI to use in HiDPI monitor ? I used LG 5K2K and it's realyl annoying to work with. 2.0 is too large and waste of real estate , 1.0 is full of tiny text + button. I try windows scale, but it's not a good option.

I read somewhere that they have to rewrite a buch of core code to make 1.5 scaling to work and they are working on it. So hopefully it will come in a future update.
My "fix" is to scale to 1.49. Then everything it bigger but a bit blurry :/
