Hello everybody out there using Generation -

I'm doing a (free) Generation Clone (just a hobby, won't be big and professional like Generation AM) for win,mac,linux,ios,android. This has been brewing since December, and is starting to get ready. I'd like any feedback on things people like/dislike in Generation, as my clone resembles it somewhat (same physical layout of the shots and files (due to practical reasons) among other things).

Jokes aside,

Just toying with the idea for spinning of the ideas from Generation, introducing different views like grid, list, calendar, timeline/gantt, graph. Users, tasks and status for projects, shots, versions, playlists and packages.

Not for playback, but deeply tied into other playback systems like mrViewer and RV.

Godot for the front end, maybe JSON or an SQL for the data/schema, using ffmpeg, imagemagick as backend and possible would want to add some scripting functionality or processing framework like Gaffer.



I'm just playing around, but the idea have been brewing since BMD killed of Generation. There were a lot of potential that didn't get realized. And years later things are a bit more clear as to what worked and what didn't.

I tought nobody anymore was thinking about Generation...

I am planning to script something into Resolve to be able to open my 3D content from the timeline od from the embedded Fusion.
